Under the Philippine Identification System Act (Republic Act No. 11055) Philippines has finally enacted its mandate to start registering Filipinos in its national ID program.

This single Philippine national ID can be universally use as a proof of identity for re applications , applications or registration  government at private institutions.


What is the Philippine national ID?

The National ID serves as the government's unified, centralised method of identifying for Filipino citizens and resident foreigners and is an essential component of the Philippine Identification System (or PhilSys for short).

This ID includes the following personal information: complete name, gender, date of birth, address at home, blood type, and civil status, as well as a 12-digit number that is specific to each individual.


Where can Flipinos get Philippine National ID?

Eligible people must first fill out the online form at register.philsys.gov.ph in order to register. Customers must reserve and arrange an in-person session in order to complete the procedure. In this last stage, biometric information is obtained, such as a front-facing photo, iris scan, and fingerprint scan.

Here are the list of the requirements you should bring for verification purposes for the Philippine national ID registration

  • DFA-issued Philippine Passport or ePassport 
  • GSIS or SSS-issued Unified Multi-purpose Identification Card (UMID)
  • Land Transportation Office (LTO)-issued Student’s License Permit or Non-Professional/Professional Driver’s License 
  • PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth and one (1) government-issued identification document which bears your full name, front-facing photograph and your signature or thumb mark

Do I need to pay for National ID registration?

There are no fees needed for the ID registration, for replacement of lost ID however, the claimant should bring some fess for the cost of ID replacement


When and where can I get my Philippine national ID after registration?

After enrolling successfully, wait for the delivery of your PhilSys Number (PSN) and then your official PhilID, which should be sent to the address you provided. The courier will require your transaction slip or any other acceptable ID for verification so be sure to keep your receipts during the registration process.
